America’s corn farmers have delivered again.
According to the U.S. Grains & Bioproducts Council’s newly released 2025/2026 Corn Harvest Quality Report, this year’s crop is projected to reach more than 16.75 billion bushels — making it the largest in U.S. history and more than one billion bushels higher than the previous record of 15.3 billion bushels set in 2023.
For rural America, a harvest this strong is both a victory and a challenge. Bigger yields mean greater opportunity, but only if markets continue to grow. Record production requires new markets.
Biofuels already process around 40% of the U.S. crop, with POET alone processing one billion bushels annually. While international buyers continue to rely on U.S. corn for its consistency, reliability, and quality, exports are also insufficient to utilize this record yield. That’s why expanding demand for bioethanol remains essential.
Fortunately, one of the most powerful opportunities for farmers is here at home: E15.
Nationwide, year-round E15 would unlock an additional 2.4 billion bushels of corn annually for American farmers. This massive boost in domestic corn demand would help absorb this year’s record harvest and support stronger, more stable markets in the long term.

Additionally, drivers across the country will be able to use a higher-octane, lower-cost fuel all year long. E15 also protects our national security by reducing U.S. reliance on foreign oil.
